August Events 2014
PADSTOW CARNIVAL WEEK (cont)

LEOPALLOOZA 9

1st  - 3rd August 2014
The Wyldes Week St Mary, near Bude, North Cornwall

Leopallooza is a festival, held since 2006, which happens at Week St Mary, near Bude, in North Cornwall. This event is billed as a place where live music, tents, alcohol, good good people, sausages, sun, mud, burning cars, appreciation of the north Cornish nation, cider, neon, power riffs, straw, rain, rumours, fields and portaloos collide. The  centrepiece is a car, which is loaded with wood and set on fire. It has had different guises. It's been a Zebra and the General Lee. The festival site is built using reclaimed materials, wherever possible, making the handcrafted stages/bar/eatery unique and a welcome alternative to Formica and steel. A crew of friends dedicated to the local music scene help build and maintain the festival site year round. They design the leaflets, organise the marketing and sell the tickets. They even work on the night and forego the partying (at least until later on.)

They will be dressed in uniforms of the period with DCLI insignia and will have with them some of the equipment the soldiers would have used. Vote for Camelford Show

Vote for Camelford Show

A 1st is always exciting - even with a 108 year history...
Camelford Show, for the first time in over a century, has entered itself into a competition! The Farmers Guardian's 'Show Business' competition is in its third year and rewards the winning show with agricultural coverage and publicity.
Having been short listed (with 6 other agricultural shows from across Britain), the overall winner will now be decided by the number of supporting votes cast for each show.
Getting to this stage is an accolade in itself, but we now need voters.
As the only West country show finalist, we'd really appreciate your support.

Further information and details of how to vote are available either in today's Farmers Guardian, or online at: http://www.farmersguardian.com/your-space/competitions/show-business-2014-vote-now-for-your-favourite-show/62625.article

Closing date for voting is 23rd March 2014.

Most importantly of all though, please remember to join us on Wednesday,13th August 2014 at Camelford Show for a great day of farming and family fun!
